LIARS – 29th October 2017 – Boiler Shop Newcastle

I never expected to ever see Liars, at least not in Newcastle! They’ve been on my band bucket list for years but the opportunity never arose. The turn out was a bit of a shock, I expected this to sell out. Thankfully that didn’t affect the performance. This may even be my gig of the year.

An outstanding performance. I was particularly blown away by the new members, I was a bit worried they wouldn’t live up to the predecessors, particularly on drums. Those worries immediately dispersed as they burst into the first song, which (if I remember correctly) was ‘Drum Gets a Glimpse’.

The Boiler Shop is becoming a serious venue and has made some amazing bookings of late, this being my first gig photoing there and it was an absolute treat. Great lights and sound. Just need more punters!
